Twitter branches out with Vine

Twitter have this week introduced Vine, a social network that allows users to capture and upload short videos. The network, like most things in 2013, is mobile friendly and ensures that capturing life in motion is easy and fun, which means uploading clips directly on the go from mobile phones is already proving popular.

With large numbers signing up and video uploads increasing day-to-day, will its popularity continue? Another good question is how will people use their valuable 6 seconds? Will this network like Twitter be a simple tool used by celebs to spread their messages or will it branch into the next big marketing tool, allowing brands and businesses to talk direct to their customers.

On the subject of Vine, the Vice President said:

“Posts on Vine are about abbreviation — the shortened form of something larger. They’re little windows into the people, settings, ideas and objects that make up your life.”

So will you use Vine? And if so will it be for business or pleasure?
