Since the most recent iPhone update there have been a number of frustrated users complaining of battery drain issues, the team at WDHW being one of them. Check out these 3 steps that fixed the problem for us, across a number of different handsets in our office from iphone 4 up to iphone 6.
Step 1
Go into Settings…. iCloud and switch off keychain if you don’t use it. (This sends passwords that you use regularly to other Mac devices. It’s currently known that there is a bug.)
Step 2
Go into Settings…. General… background refresh and turn off any apps that you don’t need to refresh / update when you are not using them. We only have things like Facebook messenger, Skype and other apps that push updates to us turned on. Turn everything else off, remember when you open an app it is refreshed anyway.
Step 3
Restart the phone, and we don’t just mean turn it off by pressing the top button and swiping to shut down. You need to do a proper restart, this will not lose any data or settings. To do this hold the top button and home button (the main round button on your iPhone) for around 10 seconds till you see apple logo and your phone restarts.
That should be it! For all of us at WDHW these steps have fixed the battery drain issues! Did it work for you, let us know…
